On June 29, the heart of downtown Toronto turned into a sea of flags, music, dancing, color, and pure joy. Toronto Pride Parade 2025 brought together tens of thousands of people — marchers, supporters, families, friends, and visitors.
We were there as a family. While Sasha and our daughter Anya were watching and photographing from the Yonge & Dundas corner, I climbed onto a nearby construction platform in the middle of Yonge Street to capture the view from above. We arrived two hours before the parade began to claim our spots — and stayed through the blazing sun for most of the day.
It was hot. It was exhausting. And it was one of the most beautiful things we’ve seen this year. We captured over 1,100 images to preserve the energy and emotion of the day.
Who Was There
Over 250 community groups participated in the parade, including:
- LGBTQ+ families, couples, children, and allies
- Students and teachers with signs against discrimination
- Trans and nonbinary support networks
- Dykes on Bikes, as always, leading the way
- Companies like Indigo, TD, IKEA, Starbucks, Google
- Firefighters, doctors, nurses, unions, and faith-based groups
- Cultural associations from the Filipino, Ukrainian, Caribbean and other communities
- Marchers from the U.S. — including Buffalo and NYC
Some danced, some chanted, some simply walked quietly with signs or hands over hearts. All of it mattered.
Why We Document Days Like This
Because we’re Toronto wedding photographers, proudly LGBTQ+ friendly.
Over the years, we’ve photographed same-sex weddings, queer couples, engagements, and family sessions. These aren’t “special” shoots — they’re just real love stories. And they deserve to be told beautifully, truthfully, and respectfully.
Pride is more than a parade. It’s a reminder: visibility matters. Acceptance matters. Being seen and supported matters. These are the same values we carry into every story we document.
