This golden-hour engagement session with Laura and Cole took place at one of the most striking hidden gems in the city — the R. C. Harris Water Treatment Plant in Toronto. As Toronto engagement photographers, we always look for locations that offer both timeless architecture and open natural spaces, and this setting was simply perfect.
The R. C. Harris Water Treatment Plant in Toronto offers a rare combination of historic charm, clean architectural lines, and stunning lake views. Located in the city’s east end, it’s one of the best engagement photography locations in Toronto, especially at sunset when the light bathes the stone buildings and lawns in a warm glow.
From sweeping views of Lake Ontario to elegant stone steps and dramatic archways, this Toronto landmark provided a cinematic backdrop for Laura and Cole’s romantic photo session.
The session started just before golden hour, when the light was soft and flattering — perfect for romantic portraits. Laura wore a flowing white dress that caught the light beautifully, while Cole kept it classic in jeans and a white shirt. Their chemistry made the photos feel warm, intimate, and natural.
As we walked the lush green hills and explored the architectural details of the R. C. Harris Water Treatment Plant, we captured everything from candid laughter to quiet, emotional moments.
Some of the most memorable images from this engagement session came from our walk along the lakefront. The blue tones of Lake Ontario contrasted perfectly with the neutral outfits and bright sky, creating stunning visual harmony. Whether holding hands or dancing barefoot in the grass, Laura and Cole brought genuine joy to every frame.
As Toronto photographers, we love creating portraits that are both stylish and deeply personal — and this evening was full of those little moments that tell a big love story.
We ended the session with a cozy picnic-style setup on the hill, complete with a bouquet of tulips that added a pop of colour to the soft pastel palette. The blanket, the laughter, and the golden light gave the photos a timeless, editorial feel — a blend of fine art engagement photography and documentary storytelling.
